Why it's great to have musicians for friends.

1.) You always have an arsenal of instruments to choose from if you don't have your own.

2.) Because being in a group of some kind is always cool- whether it's a rock band, jazz group, or electric string quartet.

3.) Impromptu jam sessions!

4.) Everyone always walks in step.

5.) You're always harmonizing.

6.) There are so many dirty jokes in music (I broke my G string...), and you need a friend to properly appreciate them. (And some innocent bystanders!)

7.) Sharing music and teaching each other your instruments.

8.) You can talk theory and composition, and watch bystanders' faces go blank.

9.) Because musicians generally aren't shallow and can appreciate something bigger than themselves.
